Project Description
With Sydenham High School’s 150th Reunion approaching, there was some work that needed to be done to ensure the grounds were ready to welcome alumni and guests for a celebration.
Hard outdoor spaces were expanded using new and reused pavers while soft outdoor spaces were created using accessible engineered wood fiber. Armour stones were used to create an inviting seating area while the bike pad was relocated to a more efficient and visually appealing location. Two new flagpoles were also installed.
Because this transformation was completed during the school term, the Morven team worked carefully to minimize disruption to staff and students. They temporarily relocated the main entrance as well as the bus drop-off zone so they could replace existing walkways with new cast-in-place concrete. Our team ensured the historic bell monument was protected for the duration of the project.
Despite unforeseen site conditions that delayed the project removals, the Morven team, along with its subcontractors worked together to deliver the project nearly three months ahead of schedule.
With 168 plants installed in a beautiful new garden area, the school was ready to welcome guests to their sesquicentennial celebration!
