Project Description

Morven Construction completed a 6-week project for Loyalist Township to replace two failed timber retaining walls along separate sections of McKeown Crescent walkway in Amherstview. The existing timber walls and supports were carefully removed while protecting nearby landowners’ structures and a stone wall.

In place of the timber walls, a precast Sienna Stone retaining wall was constructed, complemented by a chain link fence along the property lines. The final reinstatement involved tree plantings, topsoil, seeding, and resurfacing of asphalt.

Access to the site presented challenges due to the narrow walkways, making it difficult to maneuver large equipment needed to lift and place the stone blocks. Despite these challenges, Morven Construction successfully completed the project on time, providing a durable and aesthetically pleasing solution for the walkway.
