Project Description

Morven Construction completed a six-week project for the City of Kingston to upgrade the transit infrastructure at Innovation Drive and Hwy 15. The project began with the removal of an existing concrete pad, followed by the design and installation of a new concrete pad for the City of Kingston’s new transit shelter, including tactile surface plates for accessibility.

In addition to the shelter pad, the project involved upgrades to the concrete curb and sidewalk. This included the removal of redundant depressions and the installation of an accessible sidewalk connecting the shelter to the Hwy 15 intersection sidewalk. More than 70 meters of underground service duct were also installed to provide power to the new shelter.

The work was completed on schedule, improving accessibility and functionality of the transit stop while meeting all city specifications.
